Hiring Pathways

Thank you for your interest in Highline Public Schools!  There are several pathways in which to be hired at Highline.

Site-based Hiring

Positions are posted, screened and interviewed at the school or department location.

Position groups include classified, certificated/ESA, administrative and guest/substitutes.

Pool-based Hiring

Some positions are posted as an applicant pool position in order to obtain a list of general, qualified candidates. These postings are not for specific locations. We encourage you to also apply for individual positions as they open.

Centralized Hiring

Positions are posted, screened and interviewed throughout central office.

Position groups include classified, certificated/ESA, administrative and guest/substitutes.

Cadre Hiring

This is a centralized process for teacher candidates only. Each winter through late spring, a dedicated team of HR staff and Principals/Administrators schedule and interview top candidates. Upon the successful completion of the selection process, a candidate may be offered an early contract for next year's vacancies. Mutual placement decisions are made between site-based schools and the cadre hire.
