Central Office Specialist - Somali ELL

Qualifications

  • Experience in Dual Language or Heritage Language curriculum development.
  • Experience with working with the Somali community in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of and training in language acquisition instructional strategies such as GLAD or SIOP.
  • Strong desire to be on the forefront of developing a Somali Heritage and future Somali Dual Language program.

Salary

$59,584 - $117,306* DOE

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Foster teacher growth through individualized support, including coaching 
  • Build teacher understanding of content-specific instructional practices 
  • Develop leadership capacity of others through gradual transfer of responsibility 
  • Develop and maintain content-area frameworks 
  • Lead work to deeply understand content area standards 
  • Develop culturally responsive instructional practices and culturally responsive curriculum
