Receives money for the Nutrition Services program. Accounts for students, staff and earned labor meals accurately at the point of service. Obtains and secures petty cash fund (where applicable), counts and records money received, accurately accounts for cash and checks on individual student accounts, prepares daily deposits, records the type of meals sold, tallies milk count.

Maintains security of deposit. * Receives cash from students and staff purchasing food. * Assists with distribution of free and reduced-priced lunch applications and/or information. * Maintains meal counts by type, obtains tray count, and accurately completes paperwork. * May assist with milk for meal program. * Assists kitchen staff. * Monitors behavior of students in lunch line. Maintains orderly progression. * Follows all procedures as outlined in the current cashier manual and emails/memos. * Keeps current on required training to meet minimum hours for professional growth. Other Functions * Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.



High school diploma or equivalent

This position will be evaluated by the Director of Nutrition Services or designee based on performance of duties and responsibilities.

CASHIER While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in indoor conditions and regularly works near video display. The employee will experience constant interruptions; required to meet deadlines. Exposed to infectious diseases carried by students. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
