SUMMARY:
The Enrollment Support Specialists is responsible for assisting families through the process of school enrollment. The Enrollment Support Specialist would communicate with families about placement options, transfer procedures, and alternative educational programs within Highline Public Schools. This position would provide general clerical and secretarial support to the family center and enrollment services as directed by the Enrollment Services Manager.

CONTEXT AND MISSION:
Highline Public Schools serves approximately 19,000 students in the communities of Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, SeaTac, and White Center in Washington State. In 2013, parents, students, community members, and staff at all levels of the district came together to develop a strategic plan that reflects our goals and dreams for our students. The plan was updated in 2018 to guide our work through 2023. The plan’s promise is that every student in Highline Public Schools is known by name, strength, and need, and graduates prepared for the future they choose. The strategic plan is centered on Our Promise. It includes five big goals for Highline students, supported by Our Foundation. * Equity. We will disrupt institutional biases and end inequitable practices so all students have an equal chance at success. * Instruction. We will reduce achievement and opportunity gaps by using culturally responsive, inclusive, standards-based instruction. * Relationships. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Completes accurate data and documentation entry for enrollment team staff. * Supports Family Center reception services and assists families. * Assists families, staff, and public with enrollment, transfers, placement and educational alternatives. * Communicates with schools, staff, and public regarding enrollment policies, procedures, and calendar events in effort to promote enrollment in Highline Public Schools. * Performs general office work including but not limited to: answering phones, screening and directing calls to appropriate district departments, filing, engaging families, and communication with the public on enrollment related matters. * Collaborates with other departments and schools regarding student enrollment, transfers, and placement. * Maintain a variety of records, prepare reports, and facilitate other student assignment related processes. * Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

AA degree in business, social service, or a related field Experience managing enrollment and/or assessment data Experience working for a K-12 public school district Proficiency in a second language
